Cooperation Arrangement between the Japan Fair Trade Commission and the European Commission

On 23rd July, 2025, the Japan Fair Trade Commission (JFTC) signed a Cooperation Arrangement with the Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology of the European Commission (DG CNECT) and the Directorate-General for Competition of the European Commission (DG COMP) regarding Japan’s Act on Promotion of Competition for Specified Smartphone Software and the EU’s Digital Markets Act. The signing ceremony was held online.
This Cooperate Arrangement aims to establish a framework to cooperate through the exchange of information, to the extent permitted by applicable laws, on regulatory matters in the context of digital markets.
