Certificates of Appreciation by Minister for Foreign Affairs, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry and Minister of the Environment: Mr. Raffaele Mauro Petriccione

On 23 November 2022, Ambassador MASAKI conferred upon the late Mr. Raffaele Mauro Petriccione, former Director-General, Directorate-General “Climate Action” (CLIMA), Certificates of Appreciations from the Minister for Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, and the Minister of the Environment at the Ambassador’s residence in the presence of his family and colleague.
The late Mr. Petriccione made a distinguished contribution to the development of economic and environmental relations between Japan and the EU by leading the negotiations of the Japan-EU Economic Partnership Agreement as the EU’s Chief Negotiator and realizing the launch of the Japan-EU Green Alliance, with Japan being the first partner of the EU to establish such an alliance.
At the conferment ceremony, Ambassador Masaki expressed his sincere condolences to the family and paid his deepest gratitude for the many achievements of the late Mr. Petriccione.
In return, the family expressed her appreciation for the certificates issued by three ministers as well as for the ceremony.
