On 29 April, the Government of Japan announced the 2022 Spring Conferment of Decoration on Foreign Nationals in which Prof. Jean-Pierre Bourguignon, former President of the European Research Council and former Director of the Institut des Hautes Études Scientifiques in France, was decorated for his contributions.
