2021 Japan-EU Urban and Regional Policy Dialogue

　On May 21st, the Japan-EU Urban and Regional Policy Dialogue was held between the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan and the Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policies.

Among the participants were Mr. Sakaki, Director General of the City Bureau and Mr. Nakahara, Director General of the National Spatial Planning and Regional Policy Bureau from Japan, Mr. Marc Lemâitre, Director General of DG-REGIO at the European Commission.

During the dialogue, the Letter of Intent for cooperation between the City Bureau, the NSPRP bureau and DG-REGIO was signed, and an overview of the "Joint Study on Demographic Change and Regional Policy" was presented along with recent policy updates. Both sides confirmed further collaboration on urban and regional policy.
