On 10 May 2021, the 2nd Japan-EU Policy Dialogue on Education, Culture and Sport was held online hosted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan (MEXT). The meeting was attended by Mr. Koichi HAGIUDA, Japanese Minister of MEXT, Ms. Mariya GABRIEL, European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, and their colleagues.
During this policy dialogue, participants exchanged views on the impacts of the pandemic on education, culture and sports policies on both sides, and on the progress of the Japan-EU joint master degree programmes, which were launched and implemented as an outcome of the first Japan-EU Policy Dialogue. At the meeting, it was agreed to pursue a new boost for the enhancement of Japan-EU research exchange.
