On October 26, 2020, Prime Minister SUGA declared that Japan will aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to net-zero and to realize a carbon-neutral, decarbonized society by 2050. In light of this, the
“Green Growth Strategy towards 2050 Carbon Neutrality” was formulated on December 25, 2020. It covers comprehensive policies and actions in several areas and priority sectors.
