Opening remarks by Ambassador Masaki at Internatinonal Urban Cooperation Japan exchange meeting

On the 24th of November, Ambassador Masaki made opening remarks at the International Urban Cooperation (IUC) Japan online exchange meeting.
The IUC is an EU programme established in 2017, which aims at encouraging local efforts towards sustainable urban development through linking cities in EU and non-EU regions.
In today's meeting, which wrapped up the current period, 10 pairs of Japanese and EU cities shared messages from their mayors about their activities.
In his opening remarks, ambassador Masaki emphasized that cooperation between Japanese and EU cities to address common challenges significantly contributes to promoting the Japan-EU relationship under the Japan-EU Strategic Partnership Agreement (SPA) and beyond.
