Mr. Masao Uchibori, Governor of Fukushima Prefecture, visits Brussels
1. On 11th October, the Governor of Fukushima Prefecture, Mr. Masao Uchibori visited the Mission of Japan to the EU and exchanged views with Ambassador Kodama on the EU's import measures on Japanese food products following the Great East Japan Earthquake.
2. Afterwards, accompanied by Ambassador Kodama, the Governor visited the European Commission's Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety and met the Director-General, Ms. Anne Bucher. He presented information on the current situation of the revitalization in Fukushima and urged that the EU further relax the import measures.
3. In the evening, the Governor held a seminar and made a presentation titled "Future of Fukushima." He also held a dinner reception where guests tasted food products from Fukushima prefecture. These events demonstrated how much the Prefecture has recovered from the disaster and how safe and delicious the prefecture’s local agricultural products are.
