Seminar on Transfers of Personal Data between Japan-EU, given by Personal Information Protection Commission (PPC) of Japan
On 23 January 2019, a framework to aim for the smooth transfer of personal data between Japan and EU came into force. Corresponding to this, on 19 March, a seminar "Transfers of Personal Data between Japan and EU" was taken place at our Mission for the Japanese companies in Europe.
In the seminar, construction of a cross-border data transfer framework between Japan and EU made by the PPC was explained. Following to that, there was an active discussion regarding to the explanation given by the PPC, and the exchange of opinions on the future personal data protection system.
