On 19 February, the Mission of Japan to the EU co-hosted an event to promote the success of the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan with MEP Emma McClarkin at the European Parliament. Mr. Gen Nakatani, a member of the Japanese House of Representatives and the President of the Parliamentarian League for the Success of the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan, Ambassador Kodama, Ambassadors of participating countries, and the Head of International Relations of World Rugby joined this event. The event was a huge success with approximately 120 participants, surpassing what was expected. At the event, MP Nakatani, Ambassador Kodama as well as MEP McClarkin gave speeches, followed by "Kagami-biraki" (Japanese sake barrel opening ceremony). All the guests enjoyed Sushi and Sake, and the Shochu provided as a souvenir went over very well with guests.
