On 8 October, Ambassador Kodama was invited to "EU-Japan Conference on Smart Society and beyond for the Super-aging Era" held by Waseda University, co-hosted by Université libre de Bruxelles, where he gave an opening speech. The conference was attended by about 100 persons including Japanese and European researchers in the fields of robotics and artificial intelligence, European Commission staff (DG RTD, DG CNECT). The participants discussed how we should use robotics and artificial intelligence in the super-aging era, which is acommon agenda for Japan and Europe.
