Foreign Minister Kono's Visit to Brussels
Foreign Minister Kono visited Brussels on 25th April to participate in the Brussels II Conference on 'Supporting the future of Syria and the region', during which he laid out Japan's engagement in the issues relating to Syria. On this occasion, Minister Kono held bilateral meetings with H.E.Mr.Ayman Safadi, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan , H.E.Mr.Saad Hariri, Prime Minister, the Republic of Lebanon and H.E. Dr. Mohammad Javad ZARIF, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Minister Kono also held a meeting with H.E.Ms.Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice-President of the European Commission and Dr.Cecilia Malmström, European Commissioner for Trade.
