Open lecture by Ambassador Kodama at the Riga Graduate School of Law
1 On 04 December, Ambassador Kodama gave an open lecture entitled “Proactive Contribution to Peace -Japan's post-war journey since 1945” at the Riga Graduate School of Law.
2 The lecture was open to the public and lasted for about 40mins. 45 people attended the lecture, including participants in the school’s “Intensive Programme in Law and Economics” as well as various professors and students of the graduate school.
3 Since 2014, the Riga Graduate School of Law has organised the “Intensive Programme in Law and Economics” for people including officials from Eastern Partnership, Western Balkan and central Asian countries in order to provide a comprehensive understanding of the EU system. The programme is supported by of a number of governments and organised by the government of Latvia. This autumn’s programme was supported by Switzerland, Sweden and the US.Over a 6-week period, participants from Western Balkan countries (Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia) participated in an intensive course on the topic of EU governance and law.
