Commissioner Jourová, in charge of Justice, Consumers and Gender Equality, visited Japan on 14 and 15 December She held a meeting with Commissioner Kumazawa, of the Personal Information Protection Commission of Japan, and published a joint press statement in regard to the transfer of personal data between Japan and the EU. In addition, Commissioner Jourová had bilateral meetings with Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications Noda, State Minister of Justice Hanashi and Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Ogushi. She also made an opening speech at the Keidanren Seminar on Privacy and Data .
