On 5 and 6 July the 37th Japan-EU Interparliamentary Meeting was held in Strasbourg. For this occasion, Minister Nobuteru Ishihara (Minister of State for Economic and Fiscal Policy), MP Masazumi Gotoda (Head of Delegation), MP Satoshi Oie (Deputy Head of Delegation), MP Mitsuhiro Miyakoshi, MP Itsunori Onodera, MP Shu Watanabe, MP Kenji Nakanishi and MP Yasue Funayama travelled from Japan and participated in the meeting. The Delegation had a discussion with members of the European Parliament's Delegation for Relations with Japan, and issued a Joint Statement on the Japan-EU EPA and SPA.

The Delegation held bilateral meetings with some Members of the European Parliament, including President Antonio Tajani.
