On the 17th of October, Ambassador Odano visited the ITER construction site at Cadarache in the south of France.
He met Mr. Kaname IKEDA, the Director General of ITER, and exchanged views on the progress of the project.
ITER is a joint international research and development project, of which the main objective is to demonstrate the scientific and technical feasibility of fusion power. Japan, with the EU, is one of the partner countries in the project.
