The Mission of Japan to the European Union is seeking a candidate an Office Clerk for Protocol and General Affair’s section

The Office Clerk for Protocol and General Affair’s section will support the smooth functioning of the organization of the Mission including
  1. support with secretarial duties for the staff / support for diplomat’s various works
  2. support for diplomatic events organized by the Mission
  3. support for a wide range of tasks carried out by the Mission’s diplomats

1. Description of the post
  • Secretarial duties for the staffs
  • Support for diplomatic events organized by the Mission
  • Support for the organization of official receptions at the residence of the Ambassador of the Mission
  • Office work such as preparing daily letters, documents, translating, etc.
  • Support for other tasks related to the operation of the Mission
2. Skills required
  • Basic keyboard skills and MS Office software.
  • Communication and administrative skills in Japanese and English or French.
  • Work permit required in Belgium (non-EU citizens)
  • Ability to carry loads up to 10 kg.
3. Working conditions
  • Salary:Monthly ~€3,500 tax incl. (approximate. The amount is negotiable, taking into account the experience. The salary can be increase in line with Belgian legislation)
  • Overtime (in accordance with Belgian legislation)
  • Transport allowance
  • Summer vacation bonus
  • Year-end bonus
  • Various holidays are subject to Belgian law. In addition, several Japanese public holidays
  • Teleworking
4. Working hours
 Monday to Friday from 9:30 to 17:30, Full time 35h/week (in accordance with Belgian legislation)

5.  Place of work
 At the office of the Mission of Japan (in Brussels)
6. Employment contract
 At the end of the fixed-term employment period, a transition to a permanent contract will be discussed depending on the evaluation of the service.
